5spot Media conceptualized branding and developed a responsive site for Discosalt Magazine – an independent music magazine and art collective based in NYC that highlights new music, indie culture, emerging bands, and artists. The site utilizes a full screen parallax slideshow to create a bold impact with big, beautiful images, and provides an easy-to-use content management system for blog updates, as well as a filterable portfolio for feature articles and embedded video and music players to create a smooth, interactive experience for readers. The site, which partners with ThrillCall for a daily listing of live, regional events, has a monthly readership in excess of 22,000 visitors. All creative direction, branding, design, and curated content elements were done by 5spot Media, with the collaboration of independent artists. Original video content was developed by 5spot Media with motion design by LEAPframe digital boutique.

The interactive iPad magazine app for Discosalt Magazine was written, designed and created by 5spot Media using the Aquafadas digital publishing platform. The Discosalt app was ranked in the Top 10 indie music magazine apps of 2012 (iTunes), Top 2 independent film magazine apps of 2012 (iTunes), Top 3 independent art magazine apps 2012 (iTunes).
